As an example this is our facebook post from May this year
We did it! Amazing group of people from all over the world came together to spay and neuter over 80 dogs and cats in 3 days! These poor creatures roam the streets and beaches searching for scraps of food to stay alive whilst breeding uncontrollably. There are thousands of them and this is only a start but we are already planning the next one!
Thank you everyone LISN Dog Rescue Slaps St Lucia Bruno Project St Lucia Blake BrunoProject Irena Kaldieva
Dogs are domesticated and rely on humans to help them live a happy and healthy life St Lucia has a significant number of stray dogs and as often the dogs have not been spayed/neutered when they become homeless this has resulted in the population increasing quickly.
It can be hard for homeless dogs to survive and stay healthy on their own but this is significantly compounded when they have puppies and both the mother and puppies need extra support. So our aim is to improve the situation for as many dogs as possible through the following initiatives:
- To Rescue and rehome stray dogs
- To spay and neuter as many dogs as possible to stem the continual flow of unwanted puppies
- To organise stray dog feeding and health checks
- To support existing local charities and authorities on the ground in St Lucia with organisation and education where possible
- To be a point of contact and support to assist holiday makers help or rehome a St Lucian dog
We want to help and create a better life for the dogs of St.Lucia
